PIAA DISTRICT 3 PLAYOFF SEEDING

     The field is set!

Saturday is the Mid Penn Championship and then for several Mid Penn teams it will be off to the district playoffs.
Carlisle (2), Hershey (5), and Trinity (8) have had their sites set on the post season all spring and have had little to worry about as top ten finishes were hardly in doubt the past few weeks. For the Trojans and Herd it will be their fourth straight trips to districts and this will be the Shamrock's third straight.
CV (17) and CD (18) rankings did not move from yesterday and they were squarely on the bubble but will miss out this year. Northern's (20) late season 8 game winning streak gave them hope but would ultimately would not be enough to get them in as their 2-7 start left to much ground to make up. Palmyra (25), Chambersburg (26), and Lower Dauphin (27) all managed top 30 finishes.

We will be doing live twitter scoring updates from as many district games as possible (Follow Here) and we will update you on which ones we will be covering shortly.

(More after the break)

1st Round:
WEST YORK (9) at TRINITY (8)
5/13 - 7:00PM, COBO Field, Trinity HS
Trinity gets a great first round draw in a team they defeated last week (5/3) on the road 15-6. This time the Bulldogs must come to COBO. This is an excellent chance for Trinity to get their first ever district win. The nice setup ends quickly as they have a difficult second round game with Wilson looming.

SUSQUEHANNOCK (12) AT HERSHEY (5)
5/13 - 7:00PM, Hershey HS
In districts every game is tough and even though the Trojans should be the strong favorite in this one we do not expect Coach Schein and company to take it lightly. The Warriors are 13-6 with an 87.9 laxpower.com rating. Their only Mid Penn game was a 10-9 loss to Cumberland Valley in overtime. If Hershey can advance to round two a difficult potential matchup with 4 seed Hempfield would await.

PENN MANOR (15) AT CARLISLE (2)
5/13 - 7:00PM, Ken Millen Stadium, Carlisle HS
The Herd's tremendous regular season is rewarded with a very high seed and the easiest path of all three MP teams to a potential district title and run at states. They will open with an 11-7 Comets team who brings an 84.3 laxpower.com rating into the end of the season. These two teams faced each other back on March 21st and Carlisle won 13-2. Penn Manor is 1-2 against the Mid Penn (13-5 loss to CV, 7-6 win over LD) and we suspect the Herd will be prepared and ready to advance. In the 2nd round they would play either Central York (7) or Governor Mifflin (10).

Best of luck to all the teams, players, fans, and coaches from the MP participating. And a congratulations to the teams who fought all season to get in. Getting close to districts is an achievement unto itself.
