MID-PENN PREVIEW - CHAMBERSBURG

2014 Team Photo

CHAMBERSBURG TROJANS
Commonwealth Division
Head Coach Paul Flohr
Overall Record: 8-8    Mid-Penn Record: 5-7

A winning 2014 season saw the Trojans bounce back nicely after loosing 2013 graduate Taylor Tolbert (York College) in a season where many did not know what to expect from Coach Flohr's team. Key victories over Palmyra and State College showed that this is a team on the brink to taking the next step towards the Mid-Penn elite. Could 2015 be the year?

Key losses include 1st Team MP Midfielder JT Hopple (32 goals, 13 assists), Honorable Mention Attackman Jake Pierson (35, 10), and Nick Lombardozzi (34, 7). Those three represent a lot of firepower and the big question will be how they get replaced. A mark of a great program is the ability to reload year after year. The Trojans did this last season, can they do it again in 2015?

The obvious candidate to take the mantle is Senior Grant Swisher (Elizabethtown commitment) who had 17 goals and 13 assists in his Junior season. The not so obvious part is who else will contribute to the scoring. Look for fellow Seniors Bryce Miracle and Matthew Snider to step into that role. Nate Bradshaw returns for his senior season in the goal and looks to build on his 128 save season last spring.

The Trojans will aim to improve on their 32nd overall district ranking and push for more victories over the top half of the Mid-Penn.
