DISTRICT III PLAYOFF REPORT - ROUND 1


(1) HERSHEY 13  (16) YORK SUBURBAN 3
 A close one at the end of the first saw Hershey with a 2-1 lead. They were able to take over from their winning by 10. Karl Van Blargen continues a great May with 5 goals and 1 assist while Jake Wilson put up 3 goals and 2 assists. Next up is Wilson in round 2 on Thursday. This will be a rematch of last seasons semi-final which saw Wilson defeat Hershey 10-8. 

(2) CUMBERLAND VALLEY 15 (15) GOVERNOR MIFFLIN 6
A lot of action in the 1st quarter saw the Eagles up 5-3. They gained some breathing room by pushing the score to 8-3 by the half. They were able to extend that lead to 12-5 and put the game away. The West York Bulldogs await in round 2.

(10) WEST YORK 9  (7) TRINITY 7
A tight one through out saw the Shamrocks up 3-2 at the end of the first when the Bull Dogs were able to pull things to within one at the half trailing 6-5. The second half would be all West York on a 4-1 run for the win. Sweitzer (3 goals, 1 assists) and Betz (2 goasls, 2 assists) would lead West York on the night. Trinity's top scorers were Jeese Altmeyer (1 goal, 2 assists) and the Hergenroeder brothers (Mark and Steve) who had 2 goals each. They will face CV in round 2. 

(4) MANHEIM TOWNSHIP 14 (13) CARLISLE 7 
Township would lead at halftime 9-6 and the Herd simply could not match their scoring as they fell 14-7. Kevin Curcio led all scorers with 4 goals and 1 assist for Township. Derrick Coleman had 4 goals for the Herd.  Manheim will face Warwick in Round 2. Manheim has won this matchup two times already this spirng by scores of 18-6 and 17-11.

- (8)Wilson over (9) Red Lion 12-9. Wilson will play Hershey in round 2 which is rematch of last years semi-final.
- (12) Warrwick upsets (5) Susquehannock by a score of 7-5 scoring 5 unanswered goals in the final frame for the come back win.
- (3) Hempfield defeats (14) Lampeter Strasburg 15-11
- (6) Berks Catholic defeates (11) Dallastown by a final score of 9-8.
