Final day of the regular season with some great match-ups, District III playoff spots on the line, and the Mid-Penn Championship game on Thursday!
LOWER DAUPHIN (10-6) AT CUMBERLAND VALLEY (15-1)
Lower Dauphin sits one spot out of the district playoffs at 17th. A win would get them in, a close game might. CV needs to win to maintain their 2 seed status and wants to stay sharp for Thrusdays title game with Hershey. Should be a great game. Look for Garrett Schug, Michael Yarish, and Kevin Beaver for the Falcons. The Eagles have a whole host of weapons led by John Miller and Stevie Peters.
HERSHEY (17-0) AT NORTHERN YORK (6-10)
The Trojans sit one game away from a perfect regular season. The number one overall seed in District III will play a Polar Bear team who has turned things in the second half of the season winning 4 of 7 and it is always dangerous playing a team late in the spring with nothing to lose. For Hershey Jake Wilson and Brook Briggs will look to finish off the season as numbers 1 and 2 in scoring in the league. One of many remarkable statistics for Hershey. Look for Derek Myers and Andrew Sade to work their own 1-2 combo for Northern.
STATE COLLEGE (9-6) AT CENTRAL DAUPHIN (6-11)
Tough loss for CD last night (5-4 to Northern) as they look to rebound at home against a tough State College team. The Rams have struggled as of late losing 9 of their last 11 and will look to end the season on a positive note. The Little Lions and Brady Franks have played very well as of late winning 6 of their last 8 and if not for one goal losses to Trinity, CV, and Carlisle would have been the Commonwealth champions. A team that was very close in 2015.
MECHANICSBURG (4-12) AT PALMYRA(8-9)
The Cougars will look to bounce back after last nights 10-8 loss to Lower Dauphin as they work to continue to finish strong and hope for the best as they currently sit at 21 in the District standings. They have won 6 of their last 8 and will aim to finish the regular season at .500. Trevor Frye leads an offense with great distribution. The Wildcats have been an improved squad in 2015 and the future is looking bright. They will try to grab another Mid-Penn win prior to their last game Wednesday with Spring Grove.
BISHOP MCDEVITT (2-14) AT NEW OXFORD (5-9)
The Crusaders played tough last night with Trinity for the first three quarters until the Shamrocks pulled away in the the 4th. They will head on the road to New Oxford in what should be a winnable game for them. Nick Lokitis and Cole Bevan will lead the offense.
CHAMBERSBURG (5-10) AT SELINGSGROVE (5-5)
Chambersburg wraps up their season on the road out of conference aiming to end the year on a positive note. The Trojans have lost four of their last five games. Jake Pierson and Grant Swisher have been great all spring and should put the finishing touches on their impressive statistics.
CD EAST (0-14) AT CARLISLE (9-5)
The Herd looks to maintain or improve their District III 12 seed and get set for the postseason. A tough season for East will see them try and avoid going win less in the Mid-Penn. They have two more games to go, Wednesday at Mifflinburg, and then next Tuesday (5/12) at home against Bellefonte who will be their best chance for a win this spring.
