LOWER DAUPHIN 10 PALMYRA 8
Great game between Keystone foes the Falcons and Cougars. Palmyra led 5-2 at the end of the first when LD battled back to bring things even at 5 by the half. The Falcons took charge in the third quarter going on a 4-1 run for the 9-6 lead and then playing solid defense in the final frame for the win. Garrett Schug (1 goal, 3 assists) and Kevin Beaver (3 goals) would LD's offense. Trevor Frye, Jared Richardson, and Pete Robinson would all have 2 goals for Palmyra. Big win for the Falcons as they look to move up from 17th in the District III playoff standings.
NORTHERN YORK 5 CENTRAL DAUPHIN 4
A tight defense battle between these two squads through out the evening. Northern got the 2-1 lead in the first and would be able to keep that lead most of the night. A scoreless second quarter saw the teams match points in the third to bring the score to 4-3 Northern, and then again in the 4th where they scored one goal each. Andrew Sade led all scorers with 2 goals on the night. Northern as now won 4 of 7 games.
TRINITY 16 BISHOP MCDEVITT 5
In the first annual George Gonzales Cup game, a tribute to long time area coach who was also the High School coach of both Trinity and McDevitt's head coaches, was a close game early until the Shamrocks turned on the burners. Trinity led 1-0 at the end of the first and got on a run in the 2nd to take a 6-2 lead by the half. The Crusaders continued to battle to bring the game to 9-5 headed into the 4th. A costly penalty on the McDevitt keeper combined with excellent shooting and dodging saw Trinity go 7-0 in the final frame. Big nights for Mark Hergenroeder (3 goals, 4 assists) and Jesse Altmeyer (1 goal, 5 assists). Senior Cole Bevan led McDevitt with 2 scores.
HERSHEY 17 ELIZABETHTOWN 1
The Trojans mnove to 17-0 and are one game away (at Northern York tonight) from completing a perfect 18-0 season. Truly remarkable. The score was 6-1 at the end of the first which Hershey extended to 10-1 by the half and never looked back. Another great game for Jake Wilson (6 goals, 3 assists) and Brook Briggs (4 goals, 4 assists) as both continue to lead the Mid-Penn in total points.
