MID PENN REPORT - 4/8/14

HERSHEY 18 BISHOP MCDEVITT 2
- The story is all to familiar... The Trojans got out quickly and never looked back. Going up 5-1 at the end of the first and then 10-1 at the half this game was never in doubt for Coach Schein and his team. Again George Briggs, Logan Calhoun, and Jake Wilson led the game in scoring with 4 goals each. An interesting statistical note is that Kyle Knodracki had 0 saves while backup Coleman Diffienbach had 4. We are not sure if Kondracki simply didn't have a save before being subbed out, got hurt, or was replaced. We'll get more information out on this when it becomes available.
The Crusaders were over matched all night. Their only two goals came from Brandon McNulty and Bobby Zweigart. McDevitt will fall to 0-5 and is still in search of win number one on the season.
Hershey storms to 7-0 and looks to be in complete control of their future for the Mid Penn Keystone Division and beyond. They out scored the competition 112-18 (avergae of 16-2.5). The next challenge on their schedule will be 4/16 when they go to face 5-0 Trinity on the road. The showdown with last years champ Carlisle looms on 4/24 as well. In all likelihood one of those two teams will be seeing the Trojans again in mid May.
Hershey's attack group has been dominant in 2014 with Wilson leading the Mid Penn in goals at 22 and Calhoun trailing him with 21. George Briggs is tied for the lead in assists with 15. For total points those three represent 3 of the top 4 scores.
