MID-PENN REPORT 4/9


CUMBERLAND VALLEY 12 TRINITY 11
The Eagles take a big step towards the Commonwealth title on the road as they defeat the Shamrocks 12-11. A tight one through out saw Trinity take a 3-0 lead at the end of the first with the score being evened by the half at 6-6. CV would then get a little breathing room going up 10-8 at the end of the third and held on for the victory. They are now in firm control of their own destiny for the division. Steve Peters (4 goals and 1 assist) and John Miller (3,2) would lead the way for the Eagles while Juniors Mark Mandack (3,2) and Vincent Oliverio (3) led the Shamrocks.

HERSHEY 16 CENTRAL DAUPHIN 2
Hershey roles again in route to a dominating win which gives them significant breathing room for the Keystone Division. CD was able to run with the Trojans early holding them to a 3-0 lead at the end of the first when the flood gates opened. Jake Wilson (5 goals) and Brook Briggs (3 goals, 2 assists) would lead Hershey on an 11-1 run in the middle frames to secure the victory and move Hershey to 7-0.

MORE GAMES AFTER THE BREAK
CARLISLE 6 STATE COLLEGE 5
Another one goal game (4) for the Herd ends with a win (3 of 4). The score was 5-5 at the end of the third and saw Carlisle get the only goal in the final frame to move to 5-1 on the season. Carlisle is still very much alive for the division. The Little Lions fall to 3-4 and now have back to back losses by one score to two of the top teams in the Commonwealth. Justin Moore led the Herd with 2 goals while 5 players were able to score on the evening.

PALMYRA 9 CHAMBERSBURG 5
The past 7 meetings between these to teams had come down to one goal in each game. That would not be the case Thursday night as the Cougars won by 4 scores. Palmyra was able to take a 5-1 halftime lead and close the door in the third quarter going up 9-3. Cam Ihli has a fantastic night for Palmyra with 3 goals and 3 assists as they move to 2-5. Jake Pierson led the Trojans with 3 scores.

NORTHERN YORK 6 MECHANICSBURG 3
The Brisbane Cup will reside in Northern for the 5th straight year after a tightly contested 6-3 defensive battle. 

BISHOP MCDEVITT 15 CD EAST 2
The Crusaders get their second win on the season in convincing fashion as they move to 2-5. They got the jump early on East leading 7-1 at the end of the first quarter and were able to extend that to 12-1 by the half. It was another nice afternoon for Griffin Hanes (6 goals, 4 assists) and Nick Lokitis (4 goals, 5 assists)
