ST JOES PREP 19 CUMBERLAND VALLEY 7
The Hawks got out early and often as Kevin Stump the lead the way with 4 goals and helped put them on an 8-0 run. CV would answer at the end of the first with a Rod Jamieson score (one of his four on the night) and start a 3 score run of their own to bring it to 8-3. St Joe's would answer and end the half up 12-4. CV looked much better in the second quarter as they battled trailing Prep 4-3 in the frame. The start of the 3rd would not be what CV had hoped for as St Joes would score 4 straight going up 16-4 and forcing a running clock. CV would continue to play hard but ultimately found themselves in to large of a whole early to make it competitive.
St Joe's Prep, the District 12 one seed, will advance to the PIAA State Championship Game and play Radnor (District 1 three seed) this Saturday, 2:30pm, at Hershey Park Stadium.
Congratulations to the CV Eagles, their coaches, players, and fans as they complete a remarkable and historic 2015 campaign. Not only was this a landmark year for their team but also for the Mid-Penn as the area takes another step toward being one of the best in the state.
