MID PENN COACH AND PLAYER OF THE YEAR

Congratulations to Coach Steve Kidder and Max Breschi on receiving Coach and Player of the Year honors for the 2014 season! Both are with the Carlisle Thunder Herd program and it is a tremendous honor for them, their team, their school, and their program to receive this acknowledgement from their peers.

(More after the jump)

Coach Kidder led the Herd to a 14-2 regular season mark while going 12-0 in the Mid Penn during the regular season. The Herd won the Commonwealth Division for the third straight season but was unable to defend last years Mid Penn title against Hershey in a 15-7 loss on Saturday. Coach Kidder was able to rebuild a defense that lost all three starting poles into one of the best in the league. Out scoring opponents 179-62 for a remarkable 3.9 goals per game against average this season was one of his finest efforts in his eight season as head coach. This marks the second consecutive year Coach Kidder has been named coach of the year.

Max Breschi follows up a tremendous 2013 season where he was a first team Mid Penn selection with another first team honor is 2014, his third straight, by adding player of the year to his ever growing trophy case. Although statistically his numbers fell off from last year he still had a remarkable season leading the Herd with 41 goals and 26 assists as well as becoming the programs all-time leading scorer. Not only one of the top players in the Mid Penn he is also one of it's finest students ranking towards the top of his class in GPA. He is the embodiment of what Mid Penn Lacrosse and this award stands for.

Congratulations to both Coach Kidder and Max Breschi on their honors and best of luck to them and all the teams, players, parents, coaches, and fans participating in the district playoffs tonight.
