MID-PENN PREVIEW 4/21

HERSHEY (11-0) AT LOWER DAUPHIN (6-5)
Cross town rivals with a whole lot on the line in our game of the week. The Trojans look to remain unbeaten in their quest for another Mid-Penn title as well as hold onto their #1 over all District III playoff seed. For Lower Dauphin this would a landmark victory for their program and also help them get into the top 16 for district playoffs (currently 18). Brook Briggs and Jake Wilson will be the focus of the Hershey offense and the Lower Dauphin defense. Garrett Schug and Michael Yarrish will work to keep pace for LD with Long Pole Nick Mattis working to keep Herhsey's Karl Van Balrgen at bay. Should be a great game between these Keystone Division rivals.

TRINITY (8-2) AT MANHEIM TOWNSHIP (10-2)
Originally scheduled as the season opener for both squads this game was postponed. We will not get to see a great Lancaster-Lebanon vs Mid-Penn match-up. With Township ranked 8th and Trinity ranked 10th this game will also have major district playoff implications. The Shamrocks will need to play solid defense with Chris Augeri (30 goals, 20 assists), Kevin Curcio (27,16), and Grayson Sallade (24, 6) all being capable scorers. For the Rocks look for Jesse Altemeyer to continue to distribute with a host of scorers led by Mark and Steve Hergenroeder.

CENTRAL DAUPHIN (6-5) AT PALMYRA (4-7)
Another Keystone game between two clubs very familiar with one another. Having played 10 times the Rams hold the series edge 8-2 with the Cougars last win coming in 2010. Their last 4 meetings have bee decided by 4 goals or less. CD needs to win to move up from #21 in the District ranks while Palmyra pretty much has to win out from the #31 spot to make the top 16. Keep an eye on Damien Koussis, Derek Quaid, and Chris Martin for the Rams. The Cougars have won 3 of their last 5 with Trevor Frye, Pete Robinson, and Ethan Gain leading the way.

MORE GAME AFTER THE BREAK

ELIZABETHTOWN (4-5) AT CARLISLE (6-3)
The Herd's chances at catching Cumberland Valley are not looking great but the District III playoffs are well with in their reach (Currently a 12 seed). Every game will be crucial for them in the second half in order to get in. A big bounce back win over Chambersburg on Wednesday (17-6) seems to indicate they have got things back in order. Their defense has played better with George Fowler and Drew Amsley able to keep on the scoring pace of any opposing offense. The Bears are in the midst of a three game skid. Tom Poulos and Gage Bootay will be the players to watch for E-Town.

BISHOP MCDEVITT (2-8) AT CUMBERLAND VALLEY (11-0)
The Eagles will look to stay unbeaten at home today as they work to get to 12-0 and maintain their District playoff 3 seed (or higher) and keep their Commonwealth Division lead for the Mid-Penn. The Crusaders are in a difficult spot having dropped three straight games headed into this one.

MECHANICSBURG (3-8) AT CD EAST (0-10)
Wildcats aim to get back to back wins on the road.
