MID-PENN PREVIEW 4/30

CARLISLE (9-4) AT HERSHEY (15-0)
Always a big match-up when these two teams meet this game will take on a much different feel this time around. The Trojans are coming off a huge 9-8 win over CV to remain as the Mid-Penn's only undfeated program. The Herd is in a much different spot than last season when they went undefeated in Mid-Penn play as they have loss to Commonwealth opponents Trinity and CV and been in 6 one goal games already. Look for Carlisle to continue to play ball control and lean on Drew Amsely and George Faller offensively. For Hershey they will work to get the scoring started early and get Jake Wilson, Brook Briggs, and Karl Van Blargen active in the game plan. Hershey has won 4 of their last 6 meetings since 2012, three of those games being Mid-Penn Title Games where the Trojans hold the edge 2-1.

PALMYRA (7-8) AT LOWER DAUPHIN (9-6)
Big Keystone Division game between the Cougars and the Falcons. LD has been on a tear winning 8 of their last 10. Palmyra has also caught some fire as of late winning 5 of their last 6. LD sits at 19 in the DIII rankings (3 spots out of the top 16) while Palmyra is not yet out of things at 24. This game is a must win for both teams to keep their post season hopes alive. For the Falcons look for Garrett Schug, Michael Yarrish, and Kevin Beaver to continue to be go to players with a combined 97 goals and 53 assists. For the Cougars Trevor Frye has been huge since he came back from an off-season injury with 20 goals on the season, 9 in his last four games. This game also will feature to of the best poles in the MP with Tyler Gallagher for Plamyra and Nick Mattis for Lower Dauphin.

MORE GAMES AFTER THE BREAK

CENTRAL YORK (7-8) AT TRINITY (11-3)
The Shamrocks want to keep winning to raise their District Playoff seed. They won 6 of 7 and have the opportunity to finish out the season strongly. They'll welcome the out of conference Panthers who have hit a bit of a snag loosing 4 of their last 5. For Trinity keep an eye on attackman Jesse Altmeyer who has racked up a very impressive 15 assists in his past 2 games.

CENTRAL DAUPHIN (6-10) AT NORTHERN YORK (5-9)
The Polar bears have won 3 of their last 5 and is fighting to save what was looking like a lost season. CD has lost 5 straight and more than likely is not going to have a shot at the District III playoffs. Both clubs have great coaches who will continue to get their players to fight down the stretch. For the Rams look for Damien Koussis and Chris Martin to be featured on attack. Northern's Derek Meyers and Andrew Sade are two very talented players and this should be a close contest.

BISHOP MCDEVITT (2-12) AT STATE COLLEGE (8-6)
The Crusaders were dealt another tough loss on Monday by Northern York (8-6) and have now lost 4 games by a total of 5 goals. They will have a tough test with a long road trip as they face Brady Franks (33 goals, 12 assists) and the Little Lions. State College has been very impressive this spring and if not for one goal losses to CV and Carlisle along with Monday's 14-11 loss to Trinity would be right in the thick of the Commonwealth race. McDevitt will need to keep pace offensively with Nick Lokitis (23 goals, 10 assists) on attack and slow State College down on defense.

CHAMBERBSURG (4-9) AT MECHANICSBURG (4-11)
The Trojans have dropped 5 of their last 6 and will look to turn things around on the road against Mechanicsburg Thursday aftenroon.  The Wildcats are working to build their program and have to be looking at this an excellent opportunity to get a win against a Commonwealth opponent they have struggled against in the past. For Chambersburg Jake Pierson and Grant Swisher have been integral to their offense all season combining for 66 goals and 44 assists. For Mechanicsburg Sophmore Alec Martin is leading the way with 14 scores on the season.

CUMBERLAND VALLEY (14-1) AT CD EAST (0-13)
The Ealges will look to rebound from Tuesdays difficult 9-8 loss to Hershey on the road against the Panthers.
