MID-PENN REPORT 5/2




TRINITY 13 RED LION 8
The Shamrocks move to 12-3 with a big out of conference win against fellow District III Playoff hopeful Red Lion. The Lions will move to 13-3 and we should expect some movement down from their current #5 power ranking while Trinity should be climbing up from #9.  The Rocks got hot early taking a 5-1 first quarter lead when Red Lion found an answer in the second bring the score within one at 6-5 by halftime. Trinity bounced back with a decisive 3rd quarter and extended the lead back to four at 10-6. They would out score the Lions 3-2 in the final from for the 13-8 victory. Big game for Senior Midfielder Mark hergenroeder with 6 goals. Jesse Altmeyer continue his spectacular Junior season on attack with 3 goals and 2 assists.

PALMYRA 13 NORTHERN YORK 3
Don't look now but the Cougars have won six of their last seven and are now 8-8 on the season after bouncing back from a 2-7 start. Thursdays District III Power Rankings had them at 22, six spots out. A critical game with Lower Dauphin on Monday will determine if they can keep their playoff hopes alive. Palmyra got out to the earl 5-2 lead in this one and then put the game away in the 2nd quarter out scoring Northern 6-0 in the frame for the 11-2 halftime lead. Ethan Gain (4 goals, 1 assist) and Pete Robinson (3 goals, 2 assists) would lead the Cougars on offense.
