MID PENN PREVIEW - 4/2/14

MECHANICSBURG (1-2)  at CD EAST (0-4) 6:30pm
- Two teams looking to develop their programs and build meet tonight at Landis Field. The Panthers have not had much success to start the season having been outscored 75-6 in their first four games. They have an opportunity to be competitive against a some what banged up Mechanicsburg club.
Coach Brisbane has made some early improvements to this young Wildcat team and looks to have things moving in the right direction. Since their opening day overtime win against Conestoga Valley Mechanicsburg has dropped two straight. They will look to get their first Mid Penn victory of the year and start building momentum for the rest of the season. Look for Seniors Aaron Hesiey and Eddie Martin to be involved early and often.

NORTHERN YORK (2-1) at TRINITY (4-0) 7:30pm
POSTPONED TILL 4/9 DUE TO WEATHER/FIELD CONDITIONS
-Any hopes Northern has at a Commonwealth title will decided tonight at COBO Field. The Polar Bears have been in two OT games already (loss to Spring Grove, won over LD) this young season. They have showed that they can play all four quarters. The big question is if Zach Martich and crew can keep up the scoring with the Shamrocks and weather or not Shumberger and their defense can keep Trinity in check. Coach Miller will have his hands full tonight.
Coach Heisey finally got the "monkey off his back" last season with a win over Northern. The Shamrocks had struggled with Northern for several years but were able to turn the tide and look to continue that this year. With three returning seniors on defense, led by Tim Hickey, and a plethora of offensive weapons this one looks to go Trinity's way at home. John Miller and CJ Sherlock look to facilitate the offense from the mid-field with Connor Bailey and Mitch Kleist doing work at attack.
