MID PENN REPORT - 4/11/14

LANCASTER COUNTRY DAY (0-7) at CD EAST (0-7) 4:15PM
- The Cougars are 0-7 on the season and present CD East with their best opportunity for a win. Their leading scorer is Zach Brommer with 6 goals. The Panthers will need Christian Hess (5 goals) to lead them to victory and produce multiple goals. Hess is a strong middy on the face off and can dodge to the cage when given the opportunity. Someone will be victorious in this game and it would be a nice win for the East program to start building for the future.

PALMYRA (4-4) at CEDAR CREST (3-4)  6:00PM
- Cedar Crests only Mid Penn opponent this year was McDevitt who they defeated 12-11 in their opener. The Falcons have been an up and down squad in 2013 and will have their work cut out for them in this out of conference game with Palmyra.
     The Cougars have an excellent chance to put last nights one goal defeat by Trinity out of their minds. Some times the best remedy for a crushing defeat is to get right back on the field. The Cougars have lost four games by 7 goals which lets you know that this team is better than their .500 record shows. Joey Hess continues to lead with 37 points (20 goals, 17 assists) but has been relatively quite the past few games. Nick Mazzocca and Trevor Frye have stepped up as scorers and Palmyra has an excellent net minder in Sam Wasson with 80 saves on the season.

CARLISLE (7-0) at MANHEIM TOWNSHIP (7-1)  4:15PM
* UPDATE
- There will be no Carlisle at Manheim Township game tonight

- The Blue Streaks suffered their first defeat of the season to Emmaus 11-8 on Wednesday. The Herd comes to town presenting a difficult out of conference challenge. This will be an excellent look at two great teams for games in late May. Township is lead by Willy Hendrick (22 goals, 9 assists) and Regan Kutchman (20 goals, 6 assists).
    The Herd will need to continue to play great defense and look to George Faller (18 goals, 1 assists), Max Breschi (14 goals, 11 assists), and Drew Amsley (10 goals, 2 assists) to lead the scoring with John Mundell needing a great day on the face off.  With Mark Bowser in the cage and senior stand out Sid Ewell on defense the Herd has outscored 85-14 and will need a strong performance from all involved on the defensive end.
