MID PENN REPORT - 4/6/14

CUMBERLAND VALLEY 10 SUSQUEHANNOCK 9 (OT)
- Cumberland Valley ends their two game skid and moves to 3-3 after a great come from behind victory over Susquehannock. After taking a first quarter lead of 4-2 the Eagles fell behind at the half 6-4. A strong third knotted the score at 8-8 and we went to overtime tied at 9 a piece. Brady Bowman was able to hit the game winner for CV on his second goal on the day. Logan Fazakerly, Tommy Lehman, and Nick Zumbrum all had 2 goals a piece.
Coach Bogazyck continues to use two goalies in Nic Brown and Brandon Pagni, each with 4 saves on the day. The Eagles will look to keep the momentum going forward in a Commonwealth Division game against State College on Tuesday.

NORTHERN YORK 7 SOUTHWESTERN 3
- The Polar Bears move to 2-2 after a great defensive performance against Southwestern. It's been a little bit of wait for Coach Miller and company to get on the field as rescheduling issues have forced them to miss two games (McDevitt twice rescheduled and Trinity).
Grant Rutter, Derek Myers, and Sam Haak all had two goals a piece. Goal keepers Zach Shumberger and Gerald Slothhower had 4 saves total showcasing a stout defense performance by Northern.

LOWER DAUPHIN 8 SPRING GROVE 4
- Coach Vickroy and the Falcons were able to put one in the win column on Saturday over Spring Grove. It's been tough sledding for LD to this point in the season starting 0-4 with two 1 goal losses. A difficult week lies ahead with Carlisle and State College at home. The Falcons were able to match their highest point total of the season with 2 goal performances from Garret Schrug, Albert Gremmis, and Mike Mattis. Justin Gueveraz had an excellent day in the cage with 14 saves.

STATE COLLEGE 8 EXETER TOWNSHIP 4
- State College was able to get a nice out of conference win over an Exeter team that took fellow Commonwealth team Trinity into a one goal battle on Friday. The two names you need to know on the Little Lions are Brady Franks and Luc Michael. Yet again these two led State College in offensive production. Franks had a stand out day with 5 goals and 1 assist while Michaels put in 2 goals of his own. Goalie Noah Schwab had a remarkable day with 24 saves.

WILSON 12 CENTRAL DAUPHIN 3
- The Rams have now dropped 4 of their last 5 and fall to 2-4 on the season. Not the start Coach Driscoll had envisioned. Offensive production seems to be their main hurdle at this point in the season. Wilson is a very high quality out of conference opponent and put the second highest amount of points up on CD (Hershey had 15).
The Rams will jump back into the fire quickly with road contests on Monday and Tuesday with Penn Manor and Mechanicsburg.

ELIZABETHTOWN 7 PALMYRA 5
- The Cougars and Coach Gatano were in another close contest and fall to 4-3. It's been a year of tough matchups for Palmyra having 4 of their last 5 games deiced by 3 goals or less (2-3 in that stretch). The Cougars again relied on a great defense led by sophomore Tyler Gallagher who had 7 GB's, 5 take aways, and managed to put one in the net. Sam Wasson had another strong day minding the cage with 11 saves. Joey Hess was involved in the scoring with 3points (2 goals, 1 assist) but ultimately Plamyra will need his, and the entire offensive units, production to increase.
Elizabethtown had good production for Derek Swift (3 goals, 1 assist) and Joel Skinner (2 goals) getting their first win of the year and moving to 1-6 (1-2 verses the Mid Penn).

HERSHEY at LAMPETER-STRAUSBURG
- No score or stats at this time. Lampeter-Strausberg is 4-1 with a 86 point power ranking. The Trojans look untouchable at 6-0 with a top ten ranking of number 5.
