MID-PENN PREVIEW - HERSHEY

2014 Team After Winning Mid-Penn Title

HERSHEY TROJANS
Keystone Division
Head Coach John Schein
Overall Record: 20-4    Mid-Penn Record: 11-1

The Trojans continued to set the bar for Mid-Penn play again in 2014 as they captured their 4th Mid-Penn title in the past 6 seasons. A complete team on both sides of the ball they were a joy to watch. A 5 seed in the Distrcit II tournament saw them advance to the semi-finals and state tournament.

Hershey honors for last years seniors are substantial. Leading the way were 1st Team Attackman Logan Calhoun (66 goals, 37 assists), 1st Team LSM Dave Sickler (15,2),  1st Team Defensive Midfielder and Travers Award Finalist James Eberle (12,14), Honorable Mention Defender Chris Gazzio, and Honorable Mention Goalie Kyle Kondracki (145 Saves).

As expected Hershey returns loaded with college committed players. Leading the way will be attackmen Jake Wilson (74 goals, 27 assists, Sacred Heart) and Brooks Briggs (52, 64, F&M) who look to add to what were amazing Junior years. Junior Karl Van Blargen (30,7) will be a huge factor again in the midfield. FOGO Matt Stewart (13,4, Elizabethtown) looks to continue where he left off after his 1st Team Mid-Penn Selection in 2014. Colgate commit Jack Donahue will anchor the defense with Quintin Taylor stepping into the cage.

Hershey looks to be the odds on favorite for the Mid-Penn  in 2015 and should go far in district play.
