MID-PENN PREVIEW 4/11

HEMPFIELD (9-0) AT CARLISLE (5-1)
Carlisle has a real out of conference challenge today as the Black Knights come to town. Hempfield has 140 goals in just nine games which will test Carlisle's possession style of play. Drew Amsley and George Fowler will need to help the Herd keep pace to get the win. Colby Smith (34 goals) and Zach Ward (27 goals) will be the players to watch for Hempfield.

PARKLAND (4-3) AT HERSHEY (6-0)
At 4-3 with a 3-1 win over State College and a 7-3 loss to Wilson, Parkland could represent a significant challenge to Hershey at home. Mike Warg (15 goals) and Gavin Saylor (13 goals) will need to do some scoring to help their excellent defense keep pace with Hershey. This will be Hershey's firtst out of conference game as they have won in convincing fashion against their first six MP opponents. Look again for a lot of the leagues #1 and #2 leading scorers in Jake Wilson (38 points) and Brook Briggs (35 points).

CUMBERLAND VALLEY (7-0) AT PENN MANOR (2-5)
The Eagles will aim to avoid a let down game on the road following a big win against Trinity (12-11) on Thursday night. The Comets are in a difficult spot having lost 4 straight. Keep an eye on Justin Schaefer and Ryan Black for the home team. CV will look to the usual names of Peters, Miller, Jamieson, Hamlin, and Sherlock to continue their high offensive output.

MORE AFTER THE BREAK

NORTHERN YORK (2-4)  AT CENTRAL YORK (3-4)
Central York is a quality out of conference opponent for the Polar Bears having won three straight after an 0-4 start. Their only MP opponent has been Hershey (lost 5-16). The Polar Bears will be aiming to get back to back wins and get closer to .500 as they have a difficult week coming up with Trinity, State College, and West York.

LAMPETER -STRASBURG (5-2) AT PALMYRA (2-5)
The Cougars got a big win over Chambersburg (9-5) on Thursday and played tough with Trinity (lost 9-6) and Carlisle (lost 7-6 OT). With Trevor Frye (7 goals in past 4 games) coming on as of late they should have a good shot to win at home. The Pioneers are playing well winning 4 of thier last 5 and beat MP opponent McDevitt 12-5. A good sytems oriented offense with excellent ball movement should be a good test for Tyller Gallagher and the Cougar defense. Look for Nate Patterson (20 goals) and Alex Patterson (15 ) to be heavily involved in their offensive game plan.

MECHANICSBURG (1-4) AT NEW OXFORD (0-6)
The Wildcats played well in the Brisbane Cup game on Thursday despite the 6-3 loss to Northern. A program that is making strides in the right direction should have a great shot at getting win number 2 against the winless Colonials who look like they let up a lot of scores (88 goals in 6 games). Jack Moyer, Alec Martin, and Jaryn Ruth should be in for big days.

STATE COLLEGE (3-4) AT FRANKLIN REGIONAL
Not a whole lot of information out their on the Panthers who hail from Murrysville. Brady Franks and company should have a good shot to get back to .500 after difficult one goal losses to CV and Carlisle earlier in the week.
