Today's Mid-Penn Preview is highlighted by the biggest game of the regular season with unbeatens Hershey and Cumberland Valley going head to head.
HERSHEY (14-0) AT CUMBERLAND VALLEY (14-0)
Both squads have been nothing short of spectacular all spring and have their eyes on the Mid-Penn Title as well as making runs deep into the District III Playoffs and beyond. Hershey is number one in the district power rankings while CV is number three. Hershey's biggest test so far came this past Saturday against Wilson were they won 10-6. CV has had a few more close games (1 goal wins over Carlisle, State College, and Trinity) but seems to have caught fire as of late. Barring some extremely shocking events they both will face-off in the Mid-Penn Title game on May 7th.
For the Trojans Brook Briggs and Jake Wilson will lead from the attack with the always dangerous Junior Karl Van Blargen on the midfield. The Eagles will look to Sophmore standout Stevie Peters along with John Miller, Rod Jamieson, and CJ Sherlock to continue to put up points for their offense. Should be a great game. We will be live tweeting from the game @HarrisburgLax.
TRINITY (10-3) AT CHAMBERSBURG (4-7)
The Shamrocks will aim for their sixth win in seven games as they try to improve upon their 10 seed in the district three power rankings. Jesse Altmeyer is coming off a termendous game against State College were he had 8 assists. The Trojans have lost four of their last five and are looking for the upset win at home. Look for a healthy dose of Jake Pierson and Grant Swisher in the two-man game.
CENTRAL DAUPHIN (6-8) AT CARLISLE (8-4)
Carlisle will need a win at home Tuesday night as they currently sit at 11 in the power rankings and need to continue to win to control their own destiny. CD is a long way out as they were ranked 22nd (top 16 qualify) prior to their Saturday loss at home to Susquehannock (12-9). For the Herd Drew Amsley has a tremendous outside shot and George Faller is an excellent dodger. The Rams will continue to lead on attackman Damien Koussis to keep pace with Carlisle's standard ball control offense and strong defense.
MORE GAMES AFTER THE BREAK
MECHANICSBURG (4-10) AT LOWER DAUPHIN (8-6)
The Falcons have stomer back from a 1-4 start that saw them take all their losses by 1 goal. Winning seven of their last nine the playoffs are in reach as they sit at number 20. The Wildcats have been an improved squad in 2015 and will push for the surprise win on the road.
CD EAST (0-12) AT PALMYRA (6-8)
The Cougars go for their 5th win in 6 games at home against the Panthers.
