BOX LACROSSE

Harrisburg Lacrosse has been running an indoor Box Lacrosse League for two seasons now and last night we crowned our second champions, The Mac Daddies.

We wanted to share with everyone a little information on Box Lacrosse and how it is quickly rising in popularity and use across the lacrosse landscape. Box lacrosse is a fast-paced, hard hitting, and exciting version of an already great game. Players are forced to develop new skills and approaches to the game due to the close quarters and tighter openings on offense.

As a lifetime field player a lot of us were weary on how well this would work. Two times around and we can say with out a doubt it is 1. an absolute blast to play and 2. will improve anyone's game. After a season of box heading out to the field is a piece of cake. GB's and catches on the crease come with ease.

If you watch the college game you'll notice a definite trend towards box players or "Canadians." College coaches are regularly implementing box style practices, games, and leagues for their players during the off-season.

Our goal is to continue to grow the box game for both youth and adults here is Central PA. As the area's only authentic box league we hope the exposure to this game continues to build the momentum and growth of the sport of lacrosse in all areas. Having another option of play during the off-season is an asset to any player looking to develop their game.
